A TOTAL of 37 MSPs signed a letter calling for the First Minister to pause the deadline of the short-term lets licensing scheme earlier this week.

Of those, 15 (40.5%) have a relevant interest in the industry on their parliamentary register.

The letter to Humza Yousaf calling for a delay was signed by 31 Tory MSPs, three Scottish Labour frontbenchers, two LibDem MSPs and SNP MP Fergus Ewing.

But exactly what interests did The National uncover through an analysis of each MSPs registers of interest - publicly available on the Scottish Parliament's website.

We have put together a searchable list below for readers to see the full picture.

Our analysis looked at any heritable property, gifts, remuneration or related undertaking, and partnerships and shares in firms with links to the rental sector.

SNP MSP Ewing refuted the suggestion his Lossiemouth rental was relevant, as it is a long-term let.

Scottish Labour said any insinuation that MSPs Jackie Baillie or Mark Griffin had anything to gain from signing the letter, as they are now former landlords, is “simply untrue”.

The Scottish Tories did not respond to our request for comment.
