SCOTLAND’S first luxury “mirror cabins” have opened for business.

Arbikie Distillery, which is located on family-owned Arbikie Highland Estate farm near Montrose, teamed up with global nature hospitality brand ÖÖD to create the ÖÖD by Arbikie mirror houses.

Four houses in total have been built within walking distance of the distillery, which produces whisky, vodka and gin.

Indeed, in 2020 Arbikie Distillery created the world’s first climate-positive gin and vodka.

The unique cabins allow residents to look out upon Lunan Bay and the North Sea without onlookers – or the neighbouring Highland cows - seeing inside.

Three of the cabins contain private saunas while one includes a private hot tub.

Designed with couples in mind the accommodation allows guests to stargaze with a glass of whisky from the warmth of their cabin.

“Our team is super excited to open our first site in Scotland,” said Andreas Tiik, CEO and co-founder of ÖÖD.

“The nature, the sea view, the smell of the fields, and the fresh Scottish Highland air.

“This is the perfect getaway to disconnect from the daily routines and reconnect with nature, friends, and yourself.

The National:

“The Arbikie Distillery provides a great experience around the field-to-bottle whiskey and other spirit production. We are looking forward to filling this partnership with the smiles of our guests.”
