A NEWS agency has put out a fact check dismissing reports that Humza Yousaf has “lost his job” after a viral tweet from global misogynist Andrew Tate.

Tate, who is set to be extradited to the UK after a British police force secured a European arrest warrant for allegations of rape and human trafficking, made the untrue claim to his nine million followers on Twitter/X.

The kickboxing champion-turned-influencer shared a video of Yousaf speaking to STV about “toxic behaviours from men” and “hate preachers like Andrew Tate”.

Tate wrote: “This moron just lost his job as leader of Scotland for being a knob.

“Seeya.”

Yousaf is still First Minister of Scotland and has strongly refuted reports he is considering stepping down after ending the Bute House Agreement with the Greens saw his former ministerial colleagues say they would back a Tory motion of no confidence in him.

Nonetheless, Tate’s post – which has been viewed more than 450,000 times – has sparked a flurry of celebration and racist comments.

“I detest Humza and I want Scotland to be white,” one user replied, while others questioned whether Yousaf is truly Scottish due to his Pakistani heritage.

“Make Scotland Scottish again,” one user wrote.

PA Media, a news agency, issued a fact check after the post from Tate, declaring it to be “false”.

The fact check also called out a second post from another, smaller but still large, Twitter/X account. This second one had written: "Humza Yousaf has resigned. Resignation letter was 'White'."

The video which Tate shared of the First Minister connected to comments from the summer of 2023, when Yousaf was arguing for better male role models.

Writing in The Guardian, the First Minister said that as a father of two girls the threats facing women across the world terrify him.

He said: “There is a great responsibility on me, as a male in a position of leadership, to do what I can in office to root out and tackle the toxic masculinity and male self-entitlement that leads to violence, harassment, misogyny and abuse against women.”
