RANGERS manager Pedro Caixinha has been trying to stress the main principles of his style during the international break.

Only two Rangers players were on international duty, Lee Hodson and Lee Wallace, giving the Portuguese the chance to build on his opening 4-0 victory over Hamilton.

Caixinha, whose team host Motherwell on Saturday, told Rangers TV: “It is important to establish the priorities. When you establish them though, we cannot establish everything that my philosophy is going to demand from the team in terms of their performance.

“So, we need to establish some points which are the basis – for example from the Hamilton game, in our opinion we were very good when we had the ball, trying to attack the opponent’s goal etc, and when we didn’t have the ball we tried to attack the ball – that’s the basis we want to build the team around.”

Midfielder Jason Holt remarked that every training session under Caixinha has been “intense”.

Holt added: “The main thing has been some of the stuff that we put into play against Hamilton was getting the ball and getting it forward at the earliest opportunity and getting it wide, with people in the box and attacking the space aggressively.”
