The National:

THE anti-Trump protests in Scotland were massive – and Donald's son Eric chose to hunt out an excuse rather than acknowledge the real reasons why.

He decided to blame the demonstration that took place at the South Ayrshire Trump Turnberry golf course on "phoney, paid protesters", saying he knew the "real story".

In light of Eric's claims, the Scottish Greens are sending over a hilarious invoice to the White House, claiming back some of the supposed costs.

MSP Ross Greer tweeted: "Hey @EricTrump, heard you think we were paid to protest against your bigoted despot of a dad. You seem to be the only one aware of that, so here's our invoice. Cheque or bank transfer preferable. #DumpTrump"

Coming to a total of £2354.50, the items are:

  • 50 volunteers x5hrs
  • Nivea Moisturising Sun Lotion SPF50+
  • Minibus hire x1 (8 hours)
  • Glasgow-Ayr return rail ticket x2
  • Kilwinning-Ayr return rail ticket x4
  • Kilmarnock-Ayr return rail ticket x4
  • Janey Godley limited edition 'Trump Is A...' placard x1
  • 'We Shall Overcomb' placards x20
  • Irn-Bru 8 pack x3
  • Monster Munch variety pack x3

There's been no word from Eric on whether all the protesters in Glasgow and Edinburgh were also paid.

If so, we might have a few invoices to send too...
