WE know that Donald Trump's Twitter game is all over the place, but he has outdone himself with one of his latest efforts.
At some point during the night, Trump decided the diplomatic way to address the threat Iran poses is to threaten them through a tweet ... in all caps.
To Iranian President Rouhani: hi

If we didn't know any better we'd see this as a distraction for events that are happening much closer to home for the US president.
Here are some of the best responses to his tweet.

Okay, seriously now @Twitter -- is that not a threat? Does this not violate your terms of service?

Donald Trump’s war mongering side is showing with Iran this morning. This is what happens when you pull out of the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) for no reason. The JCPOA “Iran Deal” prevented their nuclear miniaturization in exchange for sanction relief

I give it 2 weeks before you’re in Iran meeting with them saying; Met with leader, great guy, smart guy, an Arab guy, got ON unbelievably. Great people, Iranian people. Strong. We’ll do a deal. Pootin, Chairman Kim. All getting along great. Fake news won’t report. NO CONCLUSION

As a US Marine, I’m embarrassed! This is not who we are! Strength/power is not meant to be shown through bolded letters and threatening language, and that via Twitter, but rather through patience and humility. We are the United States of America!

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
