IT’S interesting to see that Abu Hamza is ramping up his campaign to be released from a US jail, in spite of being sentenced to life imprisonment.

This hypocritical plea to be released on humanitarian values is being led by his wife and his son, in spite of the fact Hamza has never once apologised or shown any remorse for his countless atrocities.

This, after all, is the man who was convicted of aiding the kidnapping of 16 foreign tourists in Yemen (four of whom were killed) and attempting to set up a terrorist training camp in Oregon in 1999, and who has provided material support for al Qaeda and the Taliban (hardly models of family values or humanitarianism).

And isn’t it strange how Mr Hamza’s sudden yearning to be free to return to the UK happens to coincide with the height of the Israel-Hamas conflict?
