If you're going to take a swing at one of your political opponents, the very least you can do is a little research before-hand...
Lib Dem MSP Alex Cole-Hamilton was left red-faced after tweeting a witty quip about Sturgeon's trips abroad, saying he was looking forward to the day she would "strengthen ties with our largest trading partner" England.
I’m relaxed about @NicolaSturgeon going on the occasional mission to strengthen ties with our top flight trading partners like France (3rd biggest). Looking forward to details of her coming visit to strengthen ties with our largest trading partner... 🏴

Oh...
He feigned surprise that this hadn't happened, and we'll leave it to you, dear reader, to work out what he was implying.
However, his attack backfired when Nicola Sturgeon pointed out that a new investment hub in London had already launched, and that she'd been in England just a few weeks prior to promote business links.
Clearly, someone isn’t aware of the new @ScotGov investment Hub in London...or of my trade and business related visits already this year to eg the London Stock Exchange and the Mansionhouse...which is a wee bit embarrassing for him. https://t.co/upU9hqSpVc

The Jouker agrees with Sturgeon on this one. It really is embarrassing how out of touch with current events Alex Cole-Hamilton appears to be...
Perhaps the worst part was when Cole-Hamilton tried to make a come back and started complaining about independence instead.
At least one of them is getting on with the day job...
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
