BACK in June, Andrew Bowie told Scots to get back in their box over claims of a power grab.
“The UK Parliament can legislate for the whole UK. No ifs, no buts,” the Scottish Conservative MP tweeted at the time.

Charming. We’ll remember that the next time the Tories claim that they support devolution or increased powers for Scotland.

Now he’s at it again, though this time he’s spouting off some nonsense claim that the only way out of this Brexit omnishambles is to back the Prime Minister’s doomed deal.
It’s not, as Twitter was quick to point out to him.
“It doesn't need repeating, but the only way to rule out a no deal brexit, the only way to rule out no brexit at all, the only way to protect our economy, our security and our Union is to back the Prime Minister's deal,” tweeted Bowie.

Here is a mere flavour of the responses:
1.

3.
That’s incorrect, according to the government’s own impact assessments, the only way to protect the economy is to revoke article 50 and it’s shameful that May is trying to bully MPs into backing her shit deal.

6.
No that's not right. We could revoke Article 50 and that's what you should be pushing for because your constituents and the rest of Scotland voted to remain in the EU.. Remember?

You get the point...
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
