PRIME Minister Boris Johnson is preparing to launch a Scottish love-bomb campaign to try win back support for the crumbling Union.

The tax-payer funded media blitz is expected to cost £5 million; almost one whole pound for every person in Scotland.

Kicking off on Valentine's Day, or thereabouts, Scottish cinema goers will be treated to videos extolling the supposed virtues of the Union. There will also be ads ran on tv, radio and online.

The aim is, reportedly, to show that Scotland is a top priority after Brexit.

A source in the Sunday Times said Johnson would put the Union “front and centre” in a fresh bid to reject the call for a second independence referendum, which the Scottish Parliament recent voted to support.

YouGov polling also suggests that a majority of Scots now back independence.
