JACKSON Carlaw's reputation has been "completely trashed" after the Dominic Cummings scandal, a new poll has revealed.
The Conservative Home survey found only one in 10 of Tory party members are satisfied with Carlaw as leader of the Scottish Tories.
It found in April this year 23.2% of Tory party members were satisfied with Carlaw but by May that figure had reduced to 11.7%.
Carlaw insisted Cummings breaking lockdown rules was a matter for Boris Johnson and the SNP said this "frankly scandalous" response is to blame for his fall in the rankings.

SNP MSP George Adam said: “Jackson Carlaw is so unpopular it seems that only 1 in 10 of his own Tory party members are happy with his performance as Holyrood leader.
“The Scottish Tories’ handling of the Dominic Cummings scandal was frankly scandalous, and it has completely trashed the membership’s confidence in their leader.
“Jackson Carlaw has been a cheerleader for the worst excesses of Tory policy and he’s watched his party being pulled even further to the right by Boris Johnson’s cabinet of hardline Brexiteers.
“Meanwhile, public confidence in the SNP Scottish Government and our First Minister is surging.
“The longer Jackson Carlaw acts as a mouthpiece for Tory cronyism at Westminster, the further he’ll slump in the ratings.”
Boris Johnson fell in the rankings by 20.3% from 83.9% in April to 63.6% in May.

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
