A CORONAVIRUS vaccine developed by Oxford University is safe and is able to train the immune system, according to the results of a trial.

Trials involving around 1077 people showed the injection, led to them making antibodies and white blood cells that can fight Covid-19.

The UK has ordered 100 million doses of the vaccine.

The findings are promising, but it is still too soon to know if this is enough to offer protection and larger trials are under way.
