THE second day’s play at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield sees former champion Stuart Bingham conclude his opening-round match against a qualifier.
David Gilbert, who reached the semi-finals for the first time in 2019, also begins his campaign, as does four-time world champion John Higgins, aka the Wizard of Wishaw. Plus, China’s Ding Junhui, Englishman Kyren Wilson and Mark Williams, who was the defending champion last year, but lost in the second round to Gilbert, all look to book their places in the last 16.
MOTD Live: FA Cup Final (BBC1, 5pm) Arsenal v Chelsea (Kick-off 5.30pm)
GARY Lineker presents coverage of the showpiece match from Wembley. The Gunners recorded a 2-0 victory over holders Manchester City in the semi-finals thanks to a brace by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Chelsea impressed in a 3-1 victory over Manchester United the following day. The sides also met in the 2017 final, when Arsenal prevailed 2-1, though more recently, Chelsea won 4-1 against their London rivals in the 2019 Europa League final. Casualty (BBC1, 8.40pm)
DAVID is excited about Rosa’s return home after visiting Xiomara, but he starts to worry that his strict routine may be boring for her. Jacob is concerned when Nate is brought into the ED struggling to breathe.
Masters guiltily remembers that he should have picked up Nate’s medication as soon as the interview was over. And when Lev’s family life takes a turn for the worst, he battles temptation and wanders into the arms of a man he’s been messaging.
The Last Wave (BBC4, 9pm & 9.50pm)
THE French drama continues, and Brizan is on a state of high alert after the cloud caused a tidal wave that destroyed the lighthouse, and the water split the small town in half.
Lena sees strange coincidences with her own dreams, and while the locals start to panic, Faust Ketchak says he sees the phenomenon as a revolt of nature and a punishment against humanity’s destructive behaviour. In the second of tonight’s episodes, Lena is still shocked by some unexpected news, and Ben makes a disturbing discovery about the mayor and the authorities.
Grace of Monaco: Hollywood Princess (C5, 9pm)
BLESSED with brains and beauty, Kelly started acting as a teenager and starred in classic films such as Rear Window, High Noon, To Catch A Thief, High Society. At the height of her fame she retired aged 26 and married Prince Rainier of Monaco. She remained a fashion and stye icon but died aged 52 after a car crash in Monaco. This documentary looks back at her Tinseltown career and life as a princess.
