ANDREW Neil has been corrected after he claimed Nicola Sturgeon has not thanked the British Army for their efforts during coronavirus.
The broadcaster said the First Minister should thank the Armed Forces but it was pointed out that she already did last month.
Speaking on This Morning, Neil said: "It would be nice if Nicola Sturgeon could utter the words 'thank you British Army for what has been done in Scotland' but so far nothing."
But Murray Foote - a Yes convert who was behind the pro-Union 'Vow' on the eve of the 2014 independence referendum - linked a video of Sturgeon's message to the British Army.

In the clip from December 23, Sturgeon thanked Armed Forces for setting up temporary hospitals and supporting the deployment of testing units.
"At this special time of year, I want to send my very best wishes to everyone in our Armed Forces community," she said.

"In recent months at a time of real crisis, our Armed Forces have been there for us. You have been there at the forefront of our country's response ot Covid - building temporary hospitals, supporting the deployment of testing units and helping local and national resilience efforts."
The FM went on: "In fact, your magnificent efforts have played a vital part in helping all of us to cope. Everyone in Scotland is hugely grateful for that, and we are also hugely grateful for the work you do around the world to keep us safe.
"I know that many of you can't be at home with your families just now. That's of course, just one further example of your service and sacrifice. So, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the outstanding contribution you make to our country.
She added: "I hope, after a very difficult year, you're all able to have the best possible Christmas and, as we look forward to better times ahead, I wish all of you and your families, a very happy new year."

Neil hit back, claiming the video proved his point. He tweeted: "As I said on This Morning, she could not bring herself to utter the words British Armed Forces in her thanks. She hides behind "our". Thanks for proving my point."

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
