TEN people have died after contracting Covid-19 following an outbreak at a care home.
NHS Fife said 25 residents and 43 staff tested positive for the virus at Mossview Care Home in Lochgelly.
The care home was closed to new admissions but has since reopened as it is now 14 days since the last positive test.
The health board said its health protection team and Fife Health and Social Care Partnership worked closely with Fife Council’s environmental health service to support the management of the care home and offer advice to prevent spread of the virus.

NHS Fife said: “NHS Fife is aware of a recent cluster of confirmed Covid-19 cases associated with Mossview Care Home in Lochgelly.
“A total of 25 residents tested positive for the virus. A further 43 staff have also tested positive for Covid-19.
“Sadly, 10 people died after contracting Covid-19 and our thoughts are with their loved ones at this difficult time.”
It comes as Scotland recorded 48 deaths from coronavirus and 895 positive tests in the past 24 hours.
Of the 17,940 new tests for Covid-19 that reported results, 5.9% were positive. This is a jump of 1% on the previous two days.
The jump puts the figure back above the World Health Organisation's threshold of 5%, which indicates the virus is under control.
The new figures mean 6431 people have died who have tested positive for Covid in the previous 28 days.
A total of 8347 deaths have been registered in Scotland where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to January 31.
There are 1729 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus, and 117 patients are in intensive care, down six on the previous day.

As of 8.30am, another 44,718 patients had received a first dose of coronavirus vaccine.
The Scottish Government figures say 786,427 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 10,332 have received the second dose.
A total of 99% of older care home residents have received a vaccine, along with 93% of all care home residents.
Of people who are over 80 but living in the community, 93% have now received at least one dose.
