The Scottish Island that Won the Lottery (C4, 8pm)

LIVING almost as close to Iceland as to London, North Uist’s 1500 islanders are famed for their self-sufficiency and resourcefulness.

However, in January 2020,101 of the residents of Berneray and North Uist were astounded to learn they would be sharing an enormous £3 million jackpot after winning the People’s Postcode Lottery.

This documentary follows the winners, including fisherman Donald, crofter Attar, postal worker Pamela, peat cutter Duncan, and whisky distillery entrepreneurs Kate and Jonny, as they deal with their bonanza.

Tina Turner at the BBC (BBC2, 8.40pm)

THE BBC is dedicating a night to the soul singer, beginning with this musical celebration featuring performances across the years on various programmes.

Among the hits from the 1960s through to the 90s that could be included are What’s Love Got to Do with It, River Deep – Mountain High, Proud Mary, We Don’t Need Another Hero, Nutbush City Limits, Private Dancer and The Best.

The programme is followed by Tina Turner: Simply the Best, in which the singer chats to BBC arts editor Will Gompertz about the highs and lows of her extraordinary life. Then, Tina Live! is a concert recorded in the Netherlands in 2009, during her hugely successful 50th Anniversary Tour.

Download Reloaded (Sky Arts, 9pm)

“WE hope you’ll get involved and set up a tent in your backyards to really enjoy a taste of Download from home,” says festival booker Andy Copping. “We are all working hard behind the scenes to make sure Download 2022 will be one for the history books.”

Download fans will have to wait until next year for the event to take place again. However, on the weekend that the festival should have taken place, this two-night programme features highlights from the rock event between 2011 and 2019. There is footage of headline performances by the likes of Iron Maiden, Slipknot, Def Leppard and Halestorm, as well as a few hidden gems.

It’ll Be Alright on the Night (STV, 9pm)

FRESH from his short stint as a guest panellist on The Masked Dancer last week, David Walliams returns to narrate another compilation of TV cock-ups rescued from the cutting-room floor.

Holly Willoughby is left red-faced when she reveals a little too much to Gladiator star Russell Crowe on This Morning, and Rylan Clark-Neal comes unstuck on the set of Supermarket Sweep.

Kourtney Kardashian causes trouble when she pretends she can’t hear hosts David Campbell and Sonia Kruger on Australian show Today Extra when they ask her a question about her sister Kim’s terrifying robbery in Paris.

And finally, chef James Martin finds live TV can be a recipe for disaster.
