IAN Blackford has joined Nicola Sturgeon in poking fun at English football fans after their team's victory against Germany.
The SNP Westminster leader began his initial contribution at Prime Minister’s Questions by congratulating Gareth Southgate’s side for their 2-0 win at Wembley.
But the Ross, Skye and Lochaber MP was sure to note that only one team has faced England at Euro 2020 and avoided defeat.
He said: “Can I congratulate England for their victory last night and of course wish them all the best for the tournament ahead.
“Of course they’ve done well. They’ve won most of their matches with the exception of the game against Scotland, where of course they even failed to score a goal.
“Nae luck.”

It comes after the First Minister made a similar jibe on social media in the aftermath of England’s victory.
She tweeted: “Congratulations, @England (Still just one team unbeaten by [England] so far in @EURO2020”

He began PMQs by congratulating the team on their victory.
The Prime Minister told MPs: "I know members from across this House will want to congratulate Gareth Southgate and his team on their 2-0 win against Germany at Wembley last night, the first time a men's team have beaten Germany in 55 years in a knockout game.
"We wish them all the best for their match against the Ukraine on Saturday and we will all be hoping against hope that this time, finally, football is coming home."
England’s win means they advance to the Euro 2020 quarter-final.
The team face Ukraine in Rome on Saturday night.
Despite their 0-0 draw with England at Wembley, Scotland were eliminated at the group stage after losing to the Czech Republic and Croatia at Hampden.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
