A MEMBER of Boris Johnson's team during his trip to Scotland has tested positive for Covid-19.
The Prime Minister will not have to isolate as Number 10 said he didn't come into contact with the staffer.
However, the Guardian reports that Johnson and the civil servant were "side by side" on several occasions.
After the staffer tested positive, they isolated in Scotland and all those identified as close contacts were told to do the same.

Johnson only recently came out of isolation after coming into close contact with health secretary Sajid Javid.
The PM and Chancellor Rishi Sunak were forced into a U-turn due to public outcry after trying to avoid self isolation by taking part in a pilot scheme.
It is understood that during Johnson's two-day trip to Scotland Johnson was tested for Covid before the trip and at some point during.
The PM will not have to isolate despite a staffer testing postive for Covid-19
It is not clear if he has been tested since the staff member entered isolation.
Johnson is currently at Chequers, where he isolated last time he was identified as a close contact.
A No 10 spokesperson said: “The prime minister regularly visits communities across the UK and all aspects of visits are carried out in line with covid guidance.
“The prime minister has not come into close contact with anyone who has tested positive.”
Despite being double vaccinated, Johnson may have to isolate again if he is contacted by test and trace.
The isolation rules don't change until August 16, when double vaccinated people will be allowed to avoid isolation.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
