THIS OFFER HAS NOW EXPIRED
OUR new Hallowe’en subscription freebie at The National will help you keep up to date with all the latest from the horror show that is the UK Government.
It’s a scary thought that, without independence, Scotland will continue to get governments it doesn’t vote for – forcing us into disasters such as this Tory Brexit.
We want more and more Scots to read the TRUTH about this Union, and so, if you take out an annual digital subscription to The National before 11.59pm on November 2, you’ll get one month free as part of our Hallowe’en special offer.
That means you’ll have unlimited access to all of our content, including premium articles and comment from Scotland’s top voices.
It’s a perfect time to do it, too – with our nation in the spotlight for COP26 and the UK Government continuing to hamper progress in so many areas.
As Scotland’s only pro-independence newspaper, we’ll help you to bust Unionist myths and get to the truth behind BBC bias.
We’ve got fantastic exclusives and we celebrate good news about Scotland too – not just the doom and gloom.
National editor Callum Baird said: “We’ve got faith in the quality of our journalism – and that’s why we’re excited to launch this special offer.
“Sign up now and we’re confident you’ll see why Scotland’s only pro-independence newspaper is so popular with our existing readers – plus, you'll be able to enjoy The National’s top coverage free for a month.
“Join our National family now, and let’s continue to move towards independence!”

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
