AWARD-WINNING Scottish comedian Janey Godley has been forced to cut her tour short after finding out she has ovarian cancer.
Posting a video on social media, Godley said she wanted to thank everybody for sharing laughter with her.
Godley had been due to play in Edinburgh and Musselburgh on the last weekend of her stand-up tour, but has been forced to cancel due to the diagnosis.
She said she was now in a "very beautiful but very stormy corner room in a hospital in Glasgow".

In a video shared with her Twitter followers, Godley said it was "on to the next step" in her journey whatever that may be.
She said: "I don't know if I'm going to be one of these people who battle bravely, who fight every step. I don't know, that doesn't feel how I've been, the last day I've done nothing but cry and cry and cry."

Godley said she would "use science and technology" to try and fight the cancer, and offered a message of advice to help others recognise the signs she saw.
The comic said: "If you have any symptoms like I had, which was I felt as though I was full before I was eating a meal, I felt as though I had no real energy, and there was a big bloatingness inside my stomach.
"I got it checked out, and it's ovarian cancer. So onwards and upwards. I want everyone to know I really appreciate them being behind me for so long."
Godley also thanked the NHS who she said had been "unbelievably brilliant".
There has been an outpouring of support for the Scots comic on social media, with users praising her for "still thinking of others at this time".
Author Jenny Colgan sent her support, writing: "oh no!!!!!! DM me if you want an early copy of next year’s book to distract you xxxxxx"
SNP MP Stewart McDonald wrote: "Oh Janey I am so sorry to hear that. My love to you and your family. Gordon and I wishing you our very very best x"
Actor Bobby Robertson added: "Really shocked and saddened to see this Janey. I hope you get well soon. Was looking forward to seeing your show tonight too. Take care xxx"
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
