A Tory MSP is accusing Nicola Sturgeon of hypocrisy for her "life of luxury" after spotting a car in the background of a promotional shoot for an election campaign event.
Tory MSP for South Scotland, Craig Hoy, took issue with the presence of a Volvo saloon at a shoot for the SNP campaign bus tour of Scotland, describing it as a “limo” and saying we should never forget “the life of luxury she lives as First Minister at our expense”.

Taking to Twitter, Hoy wrote: "This is what entitlement looks like. Next time Nicola Sturgeon starts attacking others, remember the life of luxury she lives as First Minister at our expense - photographer, chauffeur and a limo at her beck and call."

However, several Twitter users found Hoy's comments to be "pathetic" and "faux outrage".
Replying to Hoy, one wrote: "I know you're a bit of a rookie at Holyrood, but come on, this is the most pathetic post I've seen for a while!"
Another said: "The desperation of this is quite astonishing, even by Tory standards."
The Tory MSP's allegation of hypocrisy comes in the wake of Boris Johnson being fined by the Metropolitan Police for breaking his own lockdown rules and Chancellor Rishi Sunak reportedly being listed as a beneficiary of a tax haven trust.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
