A RANGERS pub has been transformed into the “Queen Elizabeth Arms” to mark the monarch’s 70th year on the throne.
As Jubilee hysteria grips the UK, the Bristol Bar took its already Union-flag-heavy décor to a new level with a special occasion makeover.
Announcing the change on Facebook in a video blasting God Save the Queen, the Glasgow-based pub revealed it would be having a “four-day party” to mark the Platinum Jubilee.

“Unfortunately the Bristol bar is taking a little break but it’s only for four days,” the owners explained.
“We have sorted out a fantastic replacement for our Queens jubilee celebrations. Please welcome The Queen Elizabeth Arms to our community!”
The owners said the Bristol Bar would return in its original form after the weekend.
Viewers were shown the exterior of the pub – which has been absolutely coated in Union flag sheets and is surrounded by Union flag bunting.
There’s also three Union flags sitting on top of the roof for good measure.
Where the usual Bristol Bar signage sits, there is now an image of the Queen above the door welcoming visitors along with text reading: “Queen Elizabeth Arms”.

Inside the pub, the royal coat of arms is featured on what looks like a rug. Red, white and blue balloons are all around the place – and there are even more pictures of the Queen on the walls.
Rangers supported flooded the comments with pride for the resdesign.
“Absolutely stunning long may she reign,” added one commenter.
“Outstanding absolutely stunning, makes you proud to be British,” said another.
Last year, we reported on the same pub parking a tank outside to mark Remembrance Sunday.
What do you think of the pub’s redesign?
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
