FROM skyrocketing food prices to surging energy bills, the cost of living crisis has affected every part of the Scottish economy.
Now, The National will be taking a deep dive into how increasing bills have affected Scots - and how to tackle t.
In a seven-part series published every day from Sunday, Ben Wray will explore inflation's impact on Scots.
Kicking the series off series on Sunday, Ben explores the recent rises in energy prices in the UK, why they rose in the first place and what other countries are doing to battle eye-watering costs.
In his next cost of living deep dive, Ben will look to Europe to see how independent nations in the continent are reacting to increasing prices and what that means for the UK.
Ben will also take on food inflation, skyrocketing house prices, transport issues and wages in Scotland.
He will look at the potential solutions on the table for Scotland to stave off the cost of living crisis.
The National’s news and features editor Laura Webster said: "We're so pleased to have Ben Wray return with another fantastic series, this time really getting to the heart of the cost of living crisis Scotland faces.
"From exploring how independent European nations are tackling rising costs, to investigating the worsening food crisis, Ben's seven articles are an absolute must-read.
"Ben's pieces get into possible solutions for the multiple crises we find ourselves in - while making the point that not being an independent country is holding Scotland back.
"We'll also be talking to Ben on a livestream this week so do join us and put your questions forward."
"While these articles will not be behind a paywall, it's your support that allows us to continue commissioning in-depth journalism like this."

HOW TO SUBSCRIBE
When you head over to our subscriptions page at https://www.thenational.scot/subscribe/ you’ll see three options:

- Our Premium Plus subscription
- Our Print Only subscription
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
