LAST night's Sturgeon supermoon caught the eye of people around Scotland - including First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
While the moon may share a name with the leader of the SNP, there is no relation between the pair but that didn't stop Nicola Sturgeon from making a cheeky joke on Twitter.
Retweeting a photo of the moon captured in Edinburgh by photographer Jane Barlow, the First Minister said: "Stunning photo by the supremely talented @belperbarlow - the moon really was impossible to ignore last night."

The supermoon, which is when the moon looks larger in the night sky due to it being closer to the earth, was the last of the year.
It takes its name from Native American nomenclature which were first published in the Maine Farmer's Almanac in the 1930s.
Explaining its etymology, Nasa says: "According to this almanac, as the full moon in Aug. the Algonquin tribes in what is now the northeastern United States called this the Sturgeon Moon after the large fish that were more easily caught this time of year in the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water."
It comes after Sturgeon spent time at the Fringe, both attending and starring in shows.
On Wednesday, she sat down with Iain Dale and spoke about Liz Truss for the first time since the Tory leadership hopeful's barbed comments, in which she called Sturgeon an "attention seeker" who was better left "ignored".

Speaking on her first meeting with Truss, Sturgeon said: “I had just done, and this is going to sound really up myself but I don’t mean to … I’d just been interviewed by Vogue, as you do, and that was the main thing she wanted to talk to me about.
“She wanted to know how she could get into Vogue – and she calls me an attention seeker!”
The First Minister went on: “I said to her, well they came and asked me, and I didn’t want to make her jealous but I remember saying to her it actually hadn’t been my first time in Vogue.
“She looked as if she’d swallowed a wasp."
Following the interview, Sturgeon was also pictured taking a selfie with independence supporter Alan Cumming after his performance in Burn.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
