Three Scottish gastropubs have been named among the best in the UK in a list looking at some of the country's top locations.
The list showcased the 50 best in the UK with a number of Scottish venues from Glasgow and Edinburgh featuring in the coveted honour.
The critics looked at everything from "London boozers with creative small plates to local country inns boasting a Michelin Star".
Of the list, Big 7 Travel looked for pubs championing quality food, saying: "These places are shining a light on regional British ingredients.
"We’re not talking about any ordinary pub grub here – we’re talking luxury scotch eggs, house-cured meats, and artisan ingredients. The places where you come for a laid-back Sunday roast and a delicious date night dinner."
With that said, here are the Scottish gastropubs named among the best in the entire UK.
The Scran & Scallie in Edinburgh named among the best gastropubs in the UK in new list
Three Scottish pubs were featured among the best in the UK with The Scran & Scallie in Edinburgh featuring the highest at number 16.
The gastropub was described as "a relaxed Scottish gastropub that has a Michelin-starred restaurant as a brother, in the form of the local Kitchin."
It was praised for its comfort food and large selection of great drinks with the critics saying: "They focus on super comforting food here, pairing it up with craft beer and a large selection of other great drinks. The sort of place where you could get seriously comfortable and not want to move for a couple of hours."
Customers have praised The Scran & Scallie for its food on Tripadvisor with one user writing: "All our food was delicious" while another added: "Well worth a visit, couldn’t fault how we were looked after. From walking in to leaving the attention to detail was spot on. The food was fantastic and service amazing."
Other Scottish gastropubs named among the top 50 in the UK
The Doric in Edinburgh was the second highest-rated Scottish pub at number 35 with the reviewer saying: "A gastropub that dates back to the 17th-Century? We’re intrigued, and you should be too.
"Doric holds claim to being the oldest gastropub in the UK, with homemade and locally sourced dishes on the menu for hundreds of years.
"Now, it’s a popular spot for local brews and delicious food. Expect local dishes such as haggis with a silky Glenkinchie Whisky jus."
At number 42 was Stravaigin in Glasgow which was praised for its "global approach to the concept of a traditional British gastropub".
The review added: "Stravaigin’s menu is a jewel of different cuisines whilst relying on incredible local produce.
"As they say themselves, the food here is ‘exotically Scottish’. Examples? Duck liver parfait with blood orange jam and sunflower seed granola or their homemade haggis."

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
