SCOTTISH singer Paolo Nutini stunned fans as he joined a Canadian band on stage for an impromptu performance at an Edinburgh nightclub.

The singer, who is due to perform at Ingliston in Edinburgh on Thursday, joined Canadian band Sylvie at Sneaky Pete’s on Tuesday evening.

Nutini will headline the stage at the Royal Highland Centre to round off a week of live music at the site, with support from Inhaler and The Big Moon.

The Scottish singer released his fourth album – Last Night in the Bittersweet – last year to critical acclaim before heading on tour.

In an Instagram post, the venue wrote: “Big PAOLO NUTINI just jumped on stage with Sylvie!

“You never know who’s gonna be around at a Sneaky Pete’s show.”

The 46-second clip on the bar's Facebook page has been viewed over 3000 times in less than 24 hours.
