A TORY MP alleged to have exposed himself to a staff member and has had the party whip removed.
Peter Bone is facing the prospect of a by-election in his constituency after he was found to have committed acts of bullying and one of sexual misconduct and recommended for a six-week ban by Parliament’s sleaze watchdog.
If MPs approve his suspension, a recall petition similar to that used to oust Margaret Ferrier will be launched.
Bone was on Monday found by the Independent Expert Panel to have “verbally belittled, ridiculed, abused and humiliated” an employee and on one occasion to have exposed his genitals to the staff member.
The Conservatives a day later took the decision to suspend Bone from the parliamentary party.
He is one of a number of Tory MPs who have been laid low by misconduct scandals.
A spokesperson for Tory Chief Whip Simon Hart said: “Following a report by the Independent Expert Panel, the Chief Whip has removed the conservative whip from Peter Bone MP.”
