A LEGENDARY rocker is set to play Edinburgh Castle next summer.
Paul Weller, known as the “modfather” for his string of hits with The Jam through the 1970s and 1980s, announced the gig on his social media on Tuesday.
Weller also found success with The Style Council in the 1980s before launching a solo career in the 1990s.
He is set to play Edinburgh Castle on Saturday July 13, 2024.
On Instagram, Weller’s team wrote: “EDINBURGH CASTLE, Paul is heading your way!
“We're very excited to reveal that Paul is heading back to @edinburghcastle to perform on the 13th of July 2024.
“Pre-sale tickets will be available from Wednesday 25 October (9am BST).
“General on-sale tickets will be available from Friday 27 October (9am BST).”
Weller previously played a show at Edinburgh Castle in July 2019.
The “Going Underground” singer played a European tour in September, performing in Spain, France, Italy, Austria, and Germany.
He is also set to play gigs in Japan and Australia in 2024.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
