NEW research has revealed the six free attractions in Scotland among the UK's top-rated spots to visit.
The list looked at each location's overall rating on Tripadvisor as well as the percentage of "excellent" reviews left on the travel site.
Out of the 10 spots listed, only four were found to be outside Scotland, seeing popular places across the country dominate the list.

The best-rated free attraction on the list, which was compiled by Go Outdoors, was the remote Scottish island of St Kilda which had 91% "excellent" reviews.
Speaking of the fascinating island, located 188 miles off the coast of Scotland, the company said: "This isolated archipelago is internationally recognised for its magnificent birdlife and is just as famous for its human history."
Second on the list was Staffa National Nature Reserve off the Isle of Mull with 88% 'excellent' reviews.
It was praised as a "beautiful island" that is "filled with distinctive rocks, enchanting caves and seabirds."
Goatfell Mountain came third place and was noted as a "top destination for hillwalkers and climbers."
The firm added: "It offers spectacular views and is perfect for gazing across the island."
