BELIEVE in Scotland has launched its own Scotch whisky and whisky glasses, with all profits going to fund its grassroots independence campaigning.
The whisky, launched in partnership with Art of the Dram, was originally part of the organisation's 2023 crowdfunder reward tiers.
The first 60 numbered bottles were given at an exclusive whisky tasting event held in Glasgow to those who donated £300 to the crowdfunder – which raised £88,015.
Each donor also received a Believe in Scotland branded Glencairn whisky glass, which is also now available to purchase.

The idea to officially launch the whisky arose during the campaign’s crowdfunder, but organisers said they “may have underestimated the demand” with Yessers telling them they intend to buy one to drink – and one to open on Scotland’s independence day.
Gordon MacIntyre-Kemp, the campaign’s founder, commented: “Campaigns cost money and so we are always looking for innovative and fun ways to raise funds for our campaigning activities and also to reward donors for their support.
“There was so much interest in the product from the crowdfunder that we have decided to launch Believe in Scotland Scotch whisky to the public. This was produced in partnership with Art of the Dram who will handle sales for us via their website and the unique design for the box and bottle was produced from our in-house designer, Stewart Bremner.
“We may have underestimated the demand as most people are saying they will buy two: one to drink and one to keep for independence day.
“We have also been asked about a potential BiS gin so that product is firmly on the drawing board.”

The whisky is a blend of five pure malts from Speyside and Highland malt whiskies for “a well-balanced and smooth finish”.
The description added: “With sweet notes of citrus, toffee, a hint of sherry and warm spices, this delicious dram is versatile to mix or simply be enjoyed on its own.”
Designer Bremner also designed the organisation’s Scotland the Brief publications.
The whisky will retail at £55 a bottle, including post and packaging and is available to purchase here. The Glencairn glass is available to buy here.
Believe in Scotland is a network of 142 local and national grassroots campaign groups, making it the leading non-party political independence campaigning body.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
