UPDATE: Desmond Price has now been traced safe and well.
SCOTTISH police have issued an appeal to trace a missing 64-year-old man from North Lanarkshire.
Desmond Price was last seen around 6.50am at his home in Centenary Gardens in Airdrie on Saturday.
He is described as being white, of heavy build and around 5ft 6ins tall and it is understood he is on foot so is unlikely to have travelled far.
He was last seen wearing glasses, a French cap, a black shirt and jacket, jeans and red boots.

Sergeant Liam Bryson from Coatbridge Police Station said: “We have officers in the area carrying out enquiries and would ask anyone who has seen Desmond to report any sightings to us.
“Our concerns are growing for his welfare and I’d ask anyone who has seen him, or a man matching his description, to report this to police as soon as possible.”
Anybody with information should contact Police Scotland via 101 and quote incident number 0686 of March 9 2024.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
