A SCOTTISH mountain has been named among the most popular in Europe as part of a new study.
Entertainment site CanadaCasino.ca has analysed Instagram and TikTok hashtag data to reveal the most popular and photographed mountains in Europe and across the world.
Ben Nevis, located close to the town of Fort William, came in fourth place with over a quarter of a million social posts across TikTok and Instagram.

As part of the same study, the popular spot also ranked 15th for being the most picturesque mountain in the world, according to social media.
Across Europe, Matterhorn mountain in Italy and Switzerland was ranked as the most popular while Eiger in Switzerland and Tre Cime di Lvaredo in Italy were ranked second and third respectively.
Triglav in Slovenia was ranked in fifth place.
The data showed there were 10,300 TikTok posts about Ben Nevis as well as more than 274,000 Instagram posts.
