A tiny dog has died after two "XL-Bullies" brutally attacked it on a Glasgow street.
The incident took place on Finnart Street in the city's east end at around 4.40pm on Monday, March 18.
During the ordeal, a young woman and her Chihuahua were attacked by the two horror hounds. Tragically, the 25-year-old woman's dog died after the altercation. The woman also sustained an injury..
However, she did not require any hospital treatment.
Since the assault police have launched an investigation, while they are also trying to track down the owner of the two XL-bully-type dogs.
Following the horror situation, residents in the area have expressed their concern over the incident - branding it shocking, terrifying, and frightening.
One local said: "I have a wee dog myself.
"The dog owners round here are frightened to go out."
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 4.40pm on Monday, March 18, 2024, police received a report of two XL-Bully-type dogs attacking a 25-year-old woman and her Chihuahua dog in Finnart Street, Glasgow.
“The incident is believed to have occurred between 4.20pm and 4.35pm and the Chihuahua died as a result of the attack.
"The 25-year-old woman sustained a wound to her back but did not require any medical treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of the incident and trace the owner of the two XL Bully type dogs.”
