OSCAR nominees Lesley Manville and Ciarán Hinds are set to bring some star quality to East Dunbartonshire during filming for a new screen adaptation of an award-winning novel.
Roads are due to be closed all day in the Bearsden area on April 20 as filming takes place.
Adapted from Midwinter Break by Bernard MacLaverty, it is the debut feature film of Olivier-winning British theatre director Polly Findlay.

It centres on an Irish couple living in Scotland who take a trip to Amsterdam where their relationship reaches a crossroads.
Starring Manville, who was nominated for Phantom Thread, and Hinds (below), who was nominated for Belfast, the film is produced by Bafta award-winner Guy Heeley.
The project is being developed by Protagonist Pictures with Film4.
“The prospect of Polly Findlay’s razor-sharp take on this powerful and affecting story with its quietly devastating reveal, and with the simply brilliant Lesley Manville and Ciarán Hinds at its heart, is simply thrilling,” said Heeley.
Protagonist CEO Dave Bishop said he was sure cinema-going audiences would immediately connect to the “high-quality” drama when it hits cinemas.
“Lesley and Ciarán are some of the top talents of their generation and the perfect pair to bring this emotionally intricate exploration of universal relationship dynamics to life,” he said.

Published in 2017, Midwinter Break was written by Glasgow-based MacLaverty following a trip to Amsterdam 16 years previously. It was voted Book of the Year by several publications, including The Herald, and won the Bord Gáis Novel of the Year.
Midwinter Break is the latest in a series of films being shot in Scotland.
Oscar-winner Colin Firth (above) was last week pictured on the set of a new drama about the Lockerbie bombing. Flora Swire was one of the 270 people killed when a bomb exploded on a Pan Am flight from London to New York on December 21, 1988, and her grieving father, Jim, who is played by Firth, led the campaign for an inquiry into the atrocity.
Firth was pictured in Bathgate where a mock-up of the crash site has been constructed for the Sky series.

A separate six-part drama about the bombing is being made by the BBC and Netflix.
A prequel to fantasy series Outlander is also being filmed in Scotland at the moment, as well as Department Q, a detective feature starring Mark Bonnar and Kelly Macdonald.
This follows filming for new survival thriller Tornado, staring Jack Lowden and Tim Roth and directed by John Maclean.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
