ITV’S decision to exclude the SNP from the first confirmed TV debate of the election has sparked outrage from the party.

First Minister John Swinney said it was “ridiculous” his party was left out of the June 4 debate, which will pit Rishi Sunak against Keir Starmer in a one-on-one fight.

SNP MP Stewart McDonald called the decision “completely unacceptable”.
