AHEAD of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour heading to Scotland, Airbnb prices have soared in the nation’s capital.

Average Airbnb prices in Edinburgh are higher than any other city in the UK set to be visited by the popstar, with prices increasing by more than £500 a night compared to the weekend before.

Swift is set to play three nights at the BT Murrayfield Stadium, from June 7 to 9. Fans have already reportedly forked out hundreds of pounds just to see the star perform, but new research from AltIndex has found fans travelling to the gig could end up paying a lot more.

This figure is significantly higher than any other city in the UK where Swift is playing a show, including London.

The research from AltIndex looked at price hikes in Airbnbs in Edinburgh, Liverpool and Cardiff as well as Travelodge price increases in London.

In Liverpool and London, prices increased by around 103%, whereas in Cardiff prices increased by 18.3% – although the singer is only performing one night in Wales.

Fans have already paid a significant amount of money to see Swift, with ticket prices at Murrayfield starting at £110.40 each for general admission.

Tickets cost up to £661 for the most expensive VIP package, which includes early entry to the stadium, four posters, a tote bag, pin, sticker and postcard set as well as a souvenir concert ticket and a VIP badge.
