POLICE are investigating the “unexplained” death of a man who was found dead in the early hours in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Byres Road in Glasgow at around 6.50am on Saturday, June 8 following concern for a person.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Investigations are ongoing and the road has been closed near the junction with Dumbarton Road with members of the public urged to avoid the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of concern for a person on Byres Road in Glasgow shortly after 6.50am on Saturday, 8 June.

“Emergency services attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“His death is being treated as unexplained. Enquiries are ongoing and the road is currently closed near the junction with Dumbarton Road.

“Please avoid the area and use alternative routes at this time.”
