TRIBUTES have been paid following the death of a member of the Yes Bikers group.

In a post on its Facebook page, Yes Bikers for Scottish independence announced the death of Douglas Macarthur,  known as “Doc”.

It said: “Doc was so proud to lead our group in his home town of Oban. Our thoughts and condolences are with Doc’s family and many friends as with all of you Yes Bikers, ride free patriot you will always ride in our hearts.

A number of people paid tribute in the social media comments, with one person saying: “The Yes Biker ride through Oban that day was an amazing sight and sound. Condolences to all Doc’s friends and family.”

A second person added: “Gutted to read this. Another patriot gone.”

Another said “there’ll never be another like him” while dozens more offered condolences to all of Doc’s family and friends.

“So sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with his family, friends and of course his fellow Yes Bikers.”
