THE death of a 22-year-old Scottish man has sparked a police appeal for two people spotted at a Scottish railway station over the weekend to come forward.

It comes after officers were called to a report of a seriously injured person at Ramsay Court, Scott Crescent, in Troon on Saturday night.

Emergency services attended at around 11:40pm on July 6, but 22-year-old Callum Pollock was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tributes have been paid to Pollock, a Rangers fan from Cumnock, on social media.

“Rip Callum, will cherish our memories,” one user wrote.

“Forever 22. Callum Pollock rest easy wee man. Never forget you wee man,” another said.

A 34-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with the death. He appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, 8 July 2024.

However, police investigations remain ongoing and officers are looking to speak to a male and female seen at Troon railway station at around midnight on Saturday, July 6.

Detective Inspector Keith Runcie said: “Our thoughts are with Callum’s family and everyone affected by his death.

“Our investigations are ongoing.

“We believe that the male who was subsequently arrested spoke with a male and female whilst awaiting a train at Troon railway station around midnight on Saturday, July 6 into Sunday, July 7, and we would like to speak to these people.

“We would ask that they contact police via telephone number 101 quoting incident number 4300 of 6 July 2024.”
