A HISTORIC Scottish inn dating back to the 18th century has been put up for sale.

Property agent Graham + Sibbald is handling the sale of The Mormond Inn in Strichen in Aberdeenshire.

The “charming rural inn” dates back to the late 1700s and provides a “vast assortment of accommodation” as well as benefiting from a large beer garden with views of the River Ugie.

Graham + Sibbald said that the location also helped with the inn’s popularity as it is situated on the Formartine and Buchan Way, which connects Strichen to both Fraserburgh and Maud.

Hotel and leisure agent with Graham + Sibbald Katie Tait commented: “The availability of Mormond Inn offers a brilliant opportunity for a new tenant or owner to operate a traditional inn, set in a lovely location with scope to expand the business by repurposing the owner’s accommodation back into letting bedrooms.”

Offers of around £225,000 are being invited for the property and Graham + Sibbald has said the sellers may consider leasing the premises.
