GLASGOW trains are being disrupted this morning due to a herd of 12 cows.

The animals moooved onto the main Edinburgh to Glasgow line near Lenzie on Monday morning, causing a bit of a delay to rush-hour services.

Network Rail apologised for the inconvenience and has said that teams are working hard to remove the herd as quickly as they can.

A spokesperson said: "Sorry if you’re being delayed on the Edinburgh-Glasgow mainline this morning near Lenzie.

"We’re dealing with a herd of 12 cows who’ve found their way onto the railway. Our response team are working to remove them as quickly as we can."

An update at 9.30am confirmed that the beef was over and the cows had been safely moved away from the line.

Network Rail said: "Thanks for your patience if you’ve been delayed, we know it’s not a-moo-sing if you’ve places to be. We’re working to get trains back on time."
