FOLLOWING the General Election, we're making some changes to our columnist line-up.

Seamus Logan, the new SNP MP for Aberdeenshire North and Moray East, who managed to stop Douglas Ross from returning to Westminster, is joining us as a new weekly columnist on Wednesdays.

Seamus won over many of our readers when he was sworn into Parliament while making a dig at the monarchy, and also wrote about the King's Speech for us during his first week in the Commons

His appointment comes as former SNP MP Alyn Smith moves to our Sunday National Seven Days section, where he will be placing more of a focus on Europe and Brussels as he works to maintain Scotland's relationship with the EU after Brexit.

Meanwhile, former SNP MP Tommy Sheppard is moving from the Sunday National post to the daily – and you'll be able to read his analysis every Monday. His Sunday commentary has been popular with readers and I'm sure many of you will be pleased to see him on a more regular basis.

As ever, we want to hear our readers' suggestions on new contributors and columnists to bring in. Who do you want to read more from? Let us know in the comments.

Finally, I'll be looking after the Sunday National as well as the daily edition now. What are you wanting to see in that paper? Again let me know in the comments or feel free to write to me at laura.webster@thenational.scot.

Welcome to our new columnist Seamus, and best wishes to Tommy and Alyn in their new sections.

As ever, if you want to read all of this and more, make sure you're subscribed at thenational.scot/subscribe
