A TEENAGER has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car on a busy street in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Nitshill Road, Glasgow, after a report of a 13-year-old girl being struck by a vehicle at around 6.10pm on Tuesday evening.

The teenager was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children for treatment.

Her current condition is not known.

The road at the junction with Loganswell Road and Inverewe Avenue was closed for almost three hours while emergency services attended the scene.

A statement from Police Scotland said: “We were made aware of a collision between a car and a 13-year-old female pedestrian on Nitshill Road in Glasgow shortly after 6.10pm on Tuesday, 23 July.

“The girl has been taken to the Royal Hospital for Children for treatment.

“Nitshill Road remains closed at the junction with Loganswell Road and Inverewe Avenue.”

A spokesperson for the force later added: “Nitshill Road has reopened following the earlier collision.

“Thank you to everyone affected by the closure for your understanding while emergency services worked at the scene.”
