THREE people have died after a major motorbike crash on a Scottish road.

A 23-year-old woman, 29-year-old man, and 37-year-old man were all sadly pronounced dead at the scene after a collision on the A6088 in Scottish Borders on Sunday.

The crash happened at around 2.30pm and involved a Suzuki GSXR and a Kawasaki ZX1400 motorbike, police said.

The road, which runs from the English Border to Hawick, was closed for around seven hours while enquiries took place, before reopening at around 9:30pm.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have information to come forward to help establish the circumstances of the crash.

Sergeant Barry Sommerville said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the three people who died.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who can help to get in touch.

“If you were in the area at the time and have information, including dash-cam, that could assist with our investigation then please make contact with us.”

Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2028 of 28 July, 2024.

The news comes after police also said that a 29-year-old woman had died in a motorbike crash at Lochgilphead, also on Sunday.
