ALAN Cumming has received a prestigious award for being a “trailblazer” in the TV industry.
The Scottish actor scooped up the accolade as part of the Dorian Television Awards, which were set up in 2009 by Galeca, a society made up of LGBT entertainment critics.
Cumming (below) won the Galeca LGBTQIA+ TV Trailblazer Award, beating drag legend RuPaul Charles, stand-up comedian Margaret Cho, Game of Thrones actress Emma D’Arcy and Scottish Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa.
The award is for those who create art which “inspires empathy, truth and equity”.
Commenting on the awards, Walt Hicket, president of Galeca, said: “Congratulations to all the winners of the 2024 Dorian Television Awards.

“This group is second to none when it comes to elevating and advocating for innovative, daring work, and celebrating the creative efforts of the future of the film and television industry.”
The awards were named after Oscar Wilde, in reference to the main character from his novel The Picture of Dorian Gray.
