A MAN has sustained “serious injuries” after being attacked by a masked suspect in West Dunbartonshire.

The 34-year-old victim was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow with “significant” injuries to his shoulder and arm following an incident on Craigbanzo Street in Clydebank at around 10.30pm on Friday.

Police have said the man remains in hospital in a serious condition.

The suspect is described as a “large built” male, around 6 foot 4 inches and wearing all black with a black mask and black skip cap.

Detective Constable Jack Muir from Clydebank CID said: “This attack has resulted in the victim sustaining very serious injuries and we are eager to trace the male responsible, as well as hear from anyone who witnessed what happened.

“If you were in the Craigbanzo Street area on Friday evening and saw anything suspicious or believe you can help us identify the male responsible, then please contact police immediately.”
