The Good Food Guide has revealed some of the longest-standing restaurants in Scotland in a bid to highlight the spots that have stood the test of time.

Sharing the new list, which features eateries in spots like London and Oxfordshire, the prestigious guide said: "The Guide has seen many restaurants come and go in its seven decades. And in a year that is proving to be a challenging one for the hospitality industry, with a raft of independent restaurant closures, we’ve taken a look at those who have stayed the course with tenacity.

"We’ve highlighted current Guide-listed restaurants that have been doing business for 20 years or more.

"Qualification for this list is that the restaurant has had the same owner/chef since opening, or has been passed down through the same family."

Kinloch Lodge, Isle of Skye

Founded in 1972, the Kinloch Lodge recently celebrated 50 years in business and has been described as a "jewel" nestled in the spectacular hills of the Isle of Skye.

The hotel and restaurant's official website states: "Much has changed on our magical island since we first opened our doors but our ethos at Kinloch has remained the same: a commitment to seasonal eating, sustainability and allowing local suppliers and their bounty to shine."

Gamba, Glasgow

This popular seafood restaurant in the heart of Glasgow was opened in 1998 and has since been a destination for people from around the world to "sample seafood creative excellence" in a cosy basement space.

Contini, Edinburgh
