TWO people have been arrested and charged following a disturbance at a shop in Paisley which was recorded on video and has been widely circulated online.

Police were called to an ongoing incident at a takeaway shop in Causeyside Street, Paisley, on Saturday at around 7pm.

The incident was recorded and has since gone viral on social media, with racial slurs allegedly being shouted.

A 48-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were arrested and charged at the scene.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 7.15pm on Saturday, 24 August, 2024, we were called to an ongoing incident where a man and a woman were causing a disturbance within a takeaway shop in Causeyside Street, Paisley.

“Officers attended and a 31-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man were arrested and charged in connection and will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.”
