THE “Scottish Banksy” has made a call for donations for several “completely bonkers” projects.

The Rebel Bear, who like Banksy remains anonymous, is a Glasgow graffiti artist who has been creating street art throughout Scotland for over five years, as well as London, Calais and New York.

Some of Rebel Bear’s work was even projected onto nine Edinburgh landmarks in 2020 as a tribute to NHS workers during the pandemic.

Now, Rebel Bear (below) has appealed to their followers on Instagram, asking: “Are there any excessively wealthy people out there who want to sponsor some mad bear projects?”

The street artist added: “I know it’s a long shot, but I’ve been trying to get a couple of ideas off the ground for a while now. But they simply cost too much for me to do alone.

“They are completely bonkers and will cost serious coin. But if you’re a bit wild and have too much money then give me a shout.”

The National approached Rebel Bear, who said that the nature of the work must remain secret but revealed that one of the ideas is an animated 3-minute long Christmas short film.

While the other “mad” idea can’t be stated publicly, the artist said each will cost around £25,000 with those who donate getting “stuff in exchange”, including credit and a 1/1 original piece.
