THE National will print an updated version of an iconic pro-independence poster from 2014 on the 10-year anniversary of the referendum.

In collaboration with pro-independence campaign group Believe in Scotland, a double-page spread poster will be included in the daily edition of the newspaper on September 18.

The poster, which is also set to feature on billboards in Scotland, is a refreshed version of the Vote Yes poster created by graphic artist Stewart Bremner in 2014.

The new version has replaced Vote Yes with the words Still Yes.

It is part of Believe in Scotland’s indyref anniversary programme, which includes a rally for independence outside Holyrood on the day.

The National's editor Laura Webster said copies of the day's paper with the poster will be available for bulk sales.

"In a week of special coverage to mark the 10th anniversary of the referendum, it's great to revive this gorgeous image which was so significant in 2014," she said.

"We're pleased to be working with Believe In Scotland to get this beautiful artwork by Stewart Bremner out to as many people as possible on this important anniversary.

"Copies will be available for pre-order and bulk sales, so Yes groups and campaigners can get the "still yes" message out far and wide. It's not one to be missed."

The founder of Believe in Scotland, Gordon MacIntyre-Kemp, added: “We hope to see thousands of posters in people's windows right across Scotland sending the message that we are Still Yes with a message that is non political, friendly and iconic.

The poster gained popularity during the 2014 independence referendum

“It is important to mark the date because you can bet the Westminster-centric media machine will and the independence movement needs to send a clear message that the Unionists control the narrative.

“They will point to the General Election and pretend that means that the independence movement is down and out, so let's deny the unionist media a field day and make sure our movement's positive message is heard.

“We won't stop, we will campaign until we win and we will win, because independence is the key to building a better Scotland. That’s a fact that more and more people will realise as it is already becoming obvious that no Westminster Government will ever put Scotland’s needs first regardless of the colour of its logo.”

The rally outside the Scottish Parliament is set to be broadcast live by Independence Live and Broadcasting Scotland, and reporters from The National will also be attendance keeping you up-to-date.

Other events in locations across Scotland have also been announced for those unable to make it to Edinburgh on September 18. The events that are confirmed so far include:

Rally outside Scottish Parliament at Horse Wynd, Edinburgh (Main Event) – 7pm.

Rally outside Marischal College at Broad Street,  Aberdeen 7pm.

Gathering at Loreburn Hall, Newall Terrace, Dumfries – 6pm.

Gathering at The Friends Room, St Magnus Centre, Kirkwall – 6pm.

Believe in Scotland has previously stated that they want the events to spread a positive message about independence and act as an opportunity to reset the Yes movement.
